GOD IS ABLE
In the face of suffering, injustice, and disasters, those experiencing vulnerability often feel hopeless. We are taught to look to the government for solutions, or aid organizations, or wealthy donors. Even Christians—often believing the lie that God only cares about “spiritual” things—fall into the trap of looking for human solutions to save them. When they fail, we lose hope. Yet the truth remains: God really is able to bring the transformations that our broken world so desperately needs.
We serve a God who has made great promises to the poor, and who is able and faithful to keep them. The One who caused water to flow out of a rock in the desert is able to provide clean water still today. The One who raised a widow’s son from the dead is still able to overcome child mortality. He is active and involved in our world. Time and again we have seen Him move communities out of poverty, restore abusive marriages, heal illnesses and addictions, and bring good out of hardships. For both suffering people and those seeking to help, we have no higher calling or better hope than depending on God and obeying His word, as we seek to act with justice and compassion.
Please pray with us…
- That all of us would look to God and receive answers from Him.
- That people’s relationships with God would be strengthened in the midst of suffering as they experience His love, provision, and power in a new way.
- That churches would have wisdom to know how best to help vulnerable people and to show love to their communities. Pray that churches and Christians will listen to God and follow what they believe He is telling them.
- For miraculous provision and deliverance as people seek to obey God.
- That God will be glorified and that good will come even through suffering.
- That God would open our eyes to the ways He is at work in our world and would renew our hope and joy in Him.
